UConn Huskies @ Marquette Golden Eagles Betting Preview

ESPN.com ranks UConn No. 3 in the nation this week only after Houston and Purdue.

"More often than not, the coach of the reigning national champions is going to get overlooked in the Coach of the Year discussion the following season if his team is a contender again. But Dan Hurley should probably be right in the conversation with Lamont Paris (South Carolina), Kyle Smith (Washington State), Danny Sprinkle (Utah State), Amir Abdur-Rahim (South Florida) and others. Although his Huskies won the title last season, they were picked third in the preseason Big East poll, not garnering a first-place vote or landing a player on the league's preseason all-conference first team."

The Huskies beat Seton Hall badly their last game, 91-61.

Donovan Clingan scored 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.  Freshman Stephon Castle tied a career high with 21 points and Tristen Newton had 17 points and 10 assists for the Huskies (26-3, 16-2 Big East).

Marquette, meanwhile, averages 79.4 points, 15.4 more per game than the 64.0 UConn allows. UConn averages 12.3 more points per game (81.6) than Marquette allows to opponents (69.3).

Kam Jones averages 2.5 made 3-pointers per game for the Golden Eagles, scoring 16.1 points while shooting 40.0% from beyond the arc. Tyler Kolek is averaging 15 points, 7.6 assists and 1.6 steals over the past 10 games for Marquette.
