Union Rags Kentucky Derby Odds Back Up To +450

After holding steadfast at 4/1 all week, Union Rags odds had moved to +450 at WagerWeb by Noon Eastern Standard Time Saturday for a payout potential of $45 on every $10 bet.

A handful of online racebooks had moved Union Rags to +450 both Wednesday and Thursday as well as early morning Friday.

Union Rags is viewed as a horse that can run well under the current track conditions (which are slop), however, there are some lingering concerns as to whether he can take the heat.

Trainer Michael Matz understands the comparisons between Union Rags and Derby legend Barbaro.

“They’re both big, good-looking, fast and athletic,” Matz said. “(Union Rags) still has to live up to what Barbaro did.”

Bodemeister was now the favourite at 4/1.

Undefeated Gemologist, meanwhile, had moved up to 7/1 odds, the best price we have seen yet.
