Sweet 16 Contest

Our friends at Sportsbook.com are offering a Sweet 16 Bracket Contest with a chance to win $5,000.00 in addition to all the latest Sweet 16 betting odds.

The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Louisville Cardinals are the new co-favorites to win the NCAA Tournament at Sportsbook.com.

Here is a breakdown of the 2009 Sweet 16 NCAA Tournament odds courtesy of Sportsbook.com:

North Carolina (7:2)

North Carolina is not a dominant team right now, but their talent alone makes them a worthy co-favorite.

Louisville (7:2)

Louisville got a big scare from Siena and you can be sure they won‘t be taking Arizona for granted on Friday.

Pittsburgh (11:2)

Pittsburgh needs to get back to their defensive style of basketball or they won't get by Xavier this Thursday.

Connecticut (6:1)

UConn has played great in the tournament so far, and they can win the national title with or without Jerome Dyson.

Memphis (6:1)

Memphis almost went down to #16 Cal Northridge in Round 1, but this second seed has the same odds as top seed Connecticut.

Duke (15:1)

There is a big drop-off in odds after the first five teams, and Duke's odds would probably be longer if wasn't for their illustrious history.

Oklahoma (15:1)

Blake Griffin has stepped up big-time in the tournament, but does he have enough help to win the whole thing?

Syracuse (15:1)

Syracuse has picked up where they left off in the Big East tournament, and no one wants to face this team right now.

Gonzaga (18:1)

These odds seem optimistic given they play North Carolina next, but Gonzaga has the talent to give the Tar Heels a run.

Michigan State (20:1)

The Big Ten is down to two teams but the Spartans showed some conference pride by fending off a tough USC Trojans team.

Villanova (20:1)

Nova has a tough road to the Final Four with Duke next, followed by a possible meeting with Connecticut. Don't discount their chances though.

Kansas (25:1)

The Jayhawks were a team a lot of people predicted to be upset already, but the defending champs aren't going quietly.

Missouri (30:1)

One of three Big 12 teams remaining, Missouri has the up-down-style that does well during tournament time.

Purdue (40:1)

The Boilermakers will have to match points with UConn on Thursday, and that's going to be a very tough task.

Arizona (50:1)

The talented Wildcats would love to recreate the magic of their 1997 title run, and they are worth a flyer at these odds.

Xavier (50:1)

Xavier has been making the Atlantic 10 proud so far, but the next round is where most predict their season will end.
