The 2009 Stanley Cup Final gets underway this weekend and betED.com has odds for the series and Game 1, as well as a great prop bet for hockey betting fans.

The defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins in a rematch of last year's final, with the opener Saturday night in Detroit (8:00 pm ET, NBC, CBC).

betED.com NHL Betting Odds have the Red Wings as a -160 moneyline, 1.5-point (+170) favorite in Game 1 with the over/under at 5.5.

Detroit is a -160 favorite to win the Stanley Cup while Pittsburgh is a +140 underdog.

And betED.com is taking bets on the Conn Smythe Trophy winner, awarded to the MVP of the Stanley Cup Final series.

Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby is a big favorite to win the Conn Smythe at -250 odds.

Crosby is the NHL Playoffs goal-scoring leader with 14, and is tied with teammate Evgeni Malkin in total points at 28.

Malkin, meanwhile, is at +350 to win MVP honors, just back of Detroit goaltender Chris Osgood at +300.

Hulking Red Wings forward Johan Franzen, who's nicknamed Mule and has been a steady playoff performer the past few seasons, is next at +450.

Detroit forward Henrik Zetterberg and Pittsburgh goalie Marc Andre Fleury are both at +750.

The Red Wings won the Western Conference final, finishing off the Chicago Blackhawks with a 2-1 overtime win in Game 5 Wednesday.

The Penguins swept the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference final, winning Game 4 by a 4-1 score on Tuesday.
