There aren’t many people who believe Jose Aldo should get a shot at the UFC Bantamweight Division title, but given his legendary status…he just might.

The Brazilian underscored his status as the so-called ‘King of Rio’ with Saturday night's victory over Jonathan Martinez.

Following that UFC 301 win, Aldo is asking for a chance to dethrone Sean O’Malley, who just happened to be one of Dana White’s guests at Tom Brady’s roast last night.

SportsBetting.ag set odds for the potential match, and O’Malley opened as a massive favorite.

Fight Odds

Jose Aldo          +210

Sean O’Malley   -250

O'Malley remains an underdog (+185) in a potential fight against Merab Dvalishvili (-220), and an even bigger dog against (+245) versus Ilia Topuria (-285).

Aldo wants a shot at O'Malley ahead of Dvalishvili, who many believe is locked in for the next bout vs. O'Malley.  Aldo believes he can be up next.

“That’s what [my manager] says,” Aldo explained. “I can skip line, I can get in there, because when we left, we were very well ranked. I feel happy to be part of this card. I think we [are lucky to have ended up] here in Rio, right? Because when I started talking with the UFC [in] January, there were no plans of doing a UFC [event] in Rio, but thank God it worked.

“Not that I saved the card, but being able to come here and do a great show. I hope this can [help], can’t it? If we can skip the line, it would be great. I think that’s it. I’ll get some rest, and go back to strong training, and new challenges will come.”
