Two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference meet in New York on Wednesday as the Rangers host the Montreal Canadiens.  The teams have met nine times in the last three years with the Rangers holding a 6-2-1 edge.  The Canadiens though, have won the last two games, both at home. SBG Global reports that early Hockey betting has the public taking  Rangers at Home.

Montreal has won four of its last five games overall including a 6-5 win over Florida on Sunday.  The Canadiens have gotten points in seven of their last eight games.  Backup goalie Jaroslav Halak is expected to get the start for Montreal since starter Carey Price is out with an injury. "At this time, we need (Halak) to be sharp," Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau said. "We were able to get two points for him, which I think earlier in the season, when he was playing well, we were not able to get, but in the situation that he's in right now he needs to be a little sharper." Halak is 1-2-0 with a 3.35 GAA in four career starts against the Rangers.

The Rangers are 14-7-2 at home this year and goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has a 2.38 GAA and a .915 save percentage at home.  He is coming off his first shutout of the season, a 4-0 win against Pittsburgh on Monday. Lundqvist is third in the league in wins.  He is 7-3-1 with a 2.76 GAA in 12 career starts versus the Canadiens.

Montreal is 0-3-1 in their last four trips to Madison Square Garden.  Here are more Hockey betting stats for Wednesday's game. The Canadiens are 4-1 in their last 5 overall. The Canadiens are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings in New York.
