Bookies Get Beat Up Badly With Sunday NFL Games

The online bookies were feeling a lot of pain Sunday night following devastating losses in the NFL.  The betting public, meanwhile, appeared to be sitting pretty.

Without a doubt, the harshest blow came at the hands of the still undefeated Tennessee Titans who beat Chicago by a touchdown.  For whatever reason, Tennessee was only a -3 favorite.    The Titans were the most bet on team everywhere.

The New England Patriots 10 point win over the Buffalo Bills was also a knockout punch to the bookies as was the Baltimore Ravens blowout of Houston.

Odds to Win the 2008 NFC North a Virtual Deadlock

There are three teams vying for a win in the NFC North this season and any one of them has a fair enough shot.

It goes without saying that the winless Detroit Lions are out of the running.  Odds to win the 2008 NFC North have the Chicago Bears as only a slight +164 favorite compared to both the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings at +174 odds each.  Regardless of which team you plan on betting, the payout is still slightly better than $100 per $100 bet at Bookmaker.com

Free Week 10 NFL Picks From BetUS.com

BetUS.com has released a handful of free Week 10 NFL picks, including totals.

That online sportsbook believes that Detroit will remain winless after Week 10.

"If Culpepper is the best answer you could possibly come up with, you're in the pits. At least the zombie-like Culpepper is too slow these days to foolishly run out of the endzone! With Jacksonville's defense showing recent signs of weakness, largely due to injury, the Jags look like a strong play this weekend despite going 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games.

Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings NFL Betting Odds

The Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings NFL betting odds opened at Minnesota -3.  Since that time the line has moved all the way down to -2.  By Wednesday night most online sportsbooks had this one at -2 ½ .  Sports Interaction was one book that had the line at Vikings -2.

Green Bay is 7-3 in this series but more telling they are 5-0 over the last five games in this series.  The two teams split their record Against The Spread.

Betting on the Tennessee Titans vs. Chicago Bears Game: Why The Line Is So Low

A quick look at the Tennessee Titans vs. Chicago Bears game and bettors are probably scratching their heads.   Why are the undefeated Titans only a -3 road favorite?

Not only does Tennessee have a far more superior record than the Bears, Chicago is starting a questionable quarterback in Rex Grossman, although a Kyle Orton start probably wouldn't make much of a difference in the line.
