Dullahan Kentucky Derby Odds (Overnight – Morning Saturday)

Dullahan was listed at 8/1 odds to win the 2012 Kentucky Derby at Belmont.com, which was a half to one point better than most other online racebooks.

This Derby contender has plenty going for him including the best post position in terms of historic wins and one of the best jockeys there is in Kent Desormeaux.

“I don’t have to fight for the path, I’m already on it. I don’t take him back, I just let him float,” Desormeaux said of his chestnut colt, owned by Iowa-based Donegal Racing.

Dullahan should be on anybody’s short list of potential Kentucky Derby winners, especially at 8/1 odds.  He is potentially the best closer in Saturday’s Derby field.

It remains to be seen whether Dullahan can win on a muddy track as his best performances to date have been on either synthetic or turf.  There was a 50 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening.  He is capable of running on dirt, having done so quite well at Churchill Downs already.
