Carrie Stroup here for Gambling911.com with your 2008 Week 1 NFL betting odds and we have a lot to cover. We start with Tampa vs. New Orleans. New Orleans is a -3 favorite in this one. 84 percent of the action was going towards the Saints. This line has not moved off the -3 but there have been a few outlets offering New Orleans at -3 ½. Because the Saints are a heavily bet on team this weekend, one would expect the bookmakers at Sportsbook.com have a strong opinion on Tampa winning.Philadelphia was a -8 ½ favorite vs. St. Louis. 86 percent of the action was going the Eagles way even with the line moving up from -6 ½. We were already seeing a few 9's popping up. Bookmakers definitely trying to get more action on St. Louis. The New York Jets are the single most bet on team in the NFL this weekend. Despite there being 90 percent plus action on the Jets, odds makers haven't moved this line up an ounce and that means there is a super strong opinion on the Dolphins winning this one. In fact, I'd give Miami a 90 percent chance of covering at least. Kansas City is supposed to be the worst team in the league. New England is supposed to be the best. Put the two together and we have a line of Patriots -15 ½ and 70 percent of the action going their way. Pittsburgh was one of the top 10 bet heading into Sunday. 81 percent of the action was on the Steelers at -7. The line had moved up from -6 ½. Half the books still had this one at -6 ½. The Steelers play the Houston Texans at 1 pm EST.Baltimore opened as a pk against Cincinnati and that line moved to -2 in favor of the Bengals. And with good reason: 92 percent of the spread action was on Cincinnati and another 84 percent was on the money line for the Bengals to win outright. The money line odds were -125. Cincinnati was the third biggest NFL bet of the night Saturday and the odds makers are definitely scared of a Bengals win. They should be. They'll take a hit if it happens and it looks like they think it will. We are seeing this line move to -2 ½ but not sure if Sportsbook.com will have it there by the AM. Detroit vs. Atlanta was another hot game, actually one of the most bet on games early in the week. A whopping 96 percent of the action was on Detroit as the -3 road favorite yet nobody is moving the line off of the number 3 and - if I were a betting woman, which I may very well be, I'd say Atlanta is highly anticipated to cover here. My money is on Atlanta to be sure. Seattle vs. Buffalo is anywhere from a pick to Buffalo the -1 ½ favorite across the board. This game is getting action but it's pretty even early on.Jacksonville vs. Tennessee is just a flat -3 across the board. The Jaguars were a top 10 bet, though more towards the bottom of that top 10. Over 70 percent of the action was going Jacksonville's way, but the bookmakers won't be devastated should the Jaguars win. Still, I'm thinking there is a better than 50 percent chance the Titans could cover here as it appears the bookies have a bit of an opinion with this game. We shall see.Good luck to all.
