Police in Thailand are investigating whether Joran van der Sloot could be connected to the disappearances of girls who went missing in that Southeast nation while he resided there.

Van der Sloot confessed to murdering Stephany Flores, a young Peruvian student he met at a Lima casino while following the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT).  He is also the lead suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway from his native Aruba.

Van der Sloot is currently awaiting trial in a notorious Peruvian prison.

In Bangkok, Van Der Sloot posed as a production consultant for a modeling agency, sources told the National Enquirer.

One source added: "There are girls who went missing in Bangkok while van der Sloot was there. Thai investigators are looking into whether he might have been involved."

Van der Sloot’s only known income seemed to come from playing online poker where there are mixed opinions as to how well he performed on at least five different card room websites.  He had little success on the live poker circuit and was not invited to participate in the LAPT while in Peru.  Van der Sloot was there merely as a spectator.
