The 2023 Barbasol Championship invades suburban Lexington (Nicholasville), Kentucky. It doesn't have a ton of the PGA’s big names competing, as those are preparing ahead of next week’s Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.

Keene Trace Golf Club will host. Here is a look at some of the odds, plus a quick betting preview of this week.

Surprise as Favorite

As was mentioned above, it’s an event played without many of the big names on tour. When looking at the odds, it is Canadian Taylor Pendrith as the favorite, priced at 18-1 (+1800), according to Barbasol Championship odds.

Pendrith’s had a nice run over the last few weeks, nearly a top-10 finish at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He still needs to prove he has what it takes to get it done on the PGA Tour, but this might be his best shot to date.

Odds are quite tight after Pendrith, meaning the tough decisions come into play. Here is a look at some of the other players and their odds…

Lucas Glover +2200

Vincent Noorman +2200

Peter Kuest +2500

Akshay Bhatia +2800

Kevin Streelman +2800

It’s a list of unknowns, so this event offers much value if you find that needle in the haystack.

Some Other Contenders

You will want to look at the entire Barbasol Championship field before making a wager. Here are others to consider before submitting a pick…

Troy Merritt +3300

Cameron Champ +3500

MJ Daffue +3500

Nicklas Noorgaard +3500

Justin Lower +4000

Carl Yuan +4000

Note the all odds listed are as of time of writing, thus subject to change.

There are also a number of prop wagers available in the tournament, as per PGA tour odds.

Streelman Gets it Done

It’s a wide-open event, perhaps with a catapult to future success on the tour.

Taylor Pendrith should be in the mix, but isn’t getting it done. Lucas Glover and Peter Kuest are also going to be near the top of the leaderboard, but won’t prevail.

Kevin Streelman, already with some success on tour, is our choice at 28-1 (+2800). Expect him to put together four solid rounds and win the Barbasol.
