Nolensville Little League - How They Got Here

Nolensville will represent the Southeast region.  They will be joined by ten other teams from the US and 10 from abroad.   This will be Nolensville's third straight appearance and the first time ever that a team has made it into the LLWS three times in a row.

The team beat their rivals from Lake Mary, Florida, 4 runs to 1 to advance into the Little League World Series following a weather delay of over four hours.  The only other team securing a spot as of August 9 was Needville Little League; Needville, Texas in the Southwest Division.

Nolensville won their first game on Thursday only to lose to Georgia two days later.  This placed them into the elimination bracket.

They would go on to defeat South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia in a rematch Monday.

Also of note, pitcher Stella Weaver from Legacy Middle School becomes the first female pitcher in Nolensville history to be part of their Little League team.  She's also a key reason why they made it this far.

Weaver hopes to outperform Mo'ne Davis.  She captivated the world in the LLWS nine years ago.

The 12-year-old Stella towers over most of her competition and is the tallest of her teammates.

"She's 5 foot 8. She's the tallest person on our team, and she's the fastest person on our team," head coach Randy Huth told News Channel 5 Nashville. "When you guys see her on the mound, there are going to be a lot of people taking note."

"Sometimes like boys will come up to me and say, 'Are you a girl?' I'm like, 'yea, you're playing against a girl,'" Stella told News Channel 5 Nashville.

Nolensville entered last year's final against Hawaii as a +650 underdog.  Hawaii would go on to play Curacao in the final, beating that Caribbean nation 13-3 to win it all.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
