Nicole Zambrano was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound in her home on Monday.

Las Vegas Police on Wednesday morning announced the arrest of her husband, Arthur Guty Jr., at the Mardi Gras Casino on the Strip.  He had in his possession $100,000 cash.

Guty, 55, married Nicole Zambrano, 26, a housekeeper, last year. The Venezuelan immigrant did not show up for work and her colleagues immediately called police to perform a welfare check on Friday. They were unable to make contact with her at that time.  Police found her shot dead on Monday but believe she was killed days earlier.

“Through the course of the investigation, we received more tips, followed up on all of those,” Uniontown police Lt. Thomas Kolencik said. “With the help of some forensic evidence and some technology, we were able to ascertain a search warrant for the home (Monday), where we found our victim deceased.”

Guty was himself the target of a previous murder-for-hire plot, put together by his first wife in 2019.

“He was on his way, we believe, out of the country with a significant amount of cash and was going to avoid, or try to avoid, any responsibility for what happened here,” said Fayette County PA District Attorney Mike Aubele told WTAE.

Police said they found Guty by pinging his phone to the Las Vegas area.

Uniontown is located a half hour from Morgantown, West Virginia.
