Rhode Island vs. Nevada Betting Line

Smithfield, Rhode Island may have lost 10-1 to Massapequa, N.Y, their first game of the tournament, but that ended up being their only loss.

The Rhode Islanders beat Connecticut and New Jersey to earn a rematch with then-undefeated New York.  They walked away with the 7-1 vixtory.

With a win against Nevada, the Rhode Islanders will remain in the "winners bracket" and go onto play the Southeast champion Tennessee on Friday (3 p.m.). A loss means it will drop to the "elimination bracket" and will play on Saturday (6 p.m.) against the loser of the California-Ohio game. Teams are eliminated after two losses.

Rhode Island is no stranger to the Little League World Series.  The 1996 Cranston Western team finished runner-up on the world stage, losing to Taiwan.

Smithfield is the 12th team from Rhode Island to reach the Little League World Series.

Henderson on Friday became the second Nevada team to reach the Little League World Series.

“We were good, but obviously not as good as these kids,” said Henderson manager Ryan Gifford, a one-time player on the Henderson Little League All-Star team 36 years ago. “I dreamt of this as a kid. This is what they all dream about. This is unbelievable.”

Henderson now follows 2014 United States champion Mountain Ridge as Nevada teams to make the World Series.

Gifford’s 12-year-old son, Nolan, pitched a no-hitter while striking out 11.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
