Gambler Sues After Getting Hit in Eye By Rogue Roulette Ball at Vegas Casino (October 2, 2023)

A casino patron has sued the Gold Coast hotel on the Vegas Strip alleging that a rogue roulette ball popped out of the wheel and hit her in the eye.

The incident took place on October 28, 2021.

The lawsuit, filed by local resident Dalease Brown, claims that the dealer rolled the roulette marble “in a negligent and unsafe speed/manner".  She seeks $15,000 in damages.

“The marble ball ricocheted from the roulette wheel and violently struck Plaintiff in her left eye at a high rate of speed, severely injuring Plaintiff,” the complaint alleges.

Boyd Gaming operates the casino.  It would not comment on the suit when approached by the Las Vegas Journal Review.

Dog Dies as Trainer Goes on 'Casino Bender' (October 1, 2023)

Josephine Ragland is being accused of the unthinkable.  A family paid her $2000 to train their beloved three-year-old French bulldog.  But while in Ragland's care, the dog perished.

Ragland, who ran the business "Everything Animals" and advertised through Thumbtack, admitted to going on “casino benders” before and after work and essentially neglecting poor Charlie.

The Hanson family from Massachusetts hired the 27-year-old Connecticut woman to board and train Charlie for two weeks.  They worried about how the dog was behaving around their newborn.

Charlie is believed to have died three to five days into his stay and Ragland, who used a false name when she first met the family, neglected to inform them of his untimely death.  Even after Charlie had died, Ragland continued to send the family photos and video.

On September 16, Charlie’s owners contacted the police, informing them their dog had not been returned following “an agreed-upon training period.”

Police found his body in Norwich, Connecticut, 115 miles from the Hanson’s home and roughly 45 minutes away from Ragland’s house.

A necropsy by the University of Connecticut found that Charlie was emaciated with nothing in his stomach. The dog is believed to have died around September 4.

Four other dogs were rescued from Ragland's home.  Since the incident, another individual has come forward claiming she left her dog with the Connecticut woman.  Ragland returned a dog.  It turned out not to be the owner's however.

North Reading police in Connecticut have charged Ragland with felony larceny and misleading a police officer.

Horseshoe Vegas Casino Shooting Appears to Have Been Attempted Suicide (August 25, 2023)

As reported by Vital Vegas via Twitter, Thursday night's shooting at the Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas was believed to be an attempted suicide (unknown if he was successful).

Not uncommon—about one visitor a week commits suicide in Las Vegas hotels—but quite uncommon on a casino floor.

The graphic incident was videoed and posted to Twitter.  Viewer discretion advised.

Harrah's Vegas Roof Collapses (August 24, 2023)

Heavy rainfall caused water leaks and damage at a few of the casinos in Las Vegas overnight Wednesday.

Videos shared across social media show flood waters inside Harrah's Casino after a portion of the ceiling collapsed.

The Paris Casino also had some water intrusion.

Caesars said in a statement that some ceiling tiles were damaged, but the roof did not collapse. Only minor repairs are needed and won't impact guests.

More than a half-inch of rain was reported on the Strip during the storm, flooding a long stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard.

Sports Betting Speed Dating Event Comes to Vegas: One Lucky Female to 500 Males? (August 9, 2023)

The Barbie exhibit may be long gone from the Circa pool but you can still find KEN there.....200 of them....to one Barbie it seems.

It's the event everyone is talking about.  The third installment of the hottest industry sports betting networking event, BetBash, is now underway at the fabulous Circa Casino in 150 degree Las Vegas.

But it's a whole lot hotter inside where a group of around 200 or so men appear to be trying to hook up with the same one woman.  It's the BetBash Speed Dating event.

"We'll be pairing everyone up with people who have similar interests. Make new connections," the event proclaims.

Our own Thomas Somach has bigger fish to fry, being that there are no fish at the afternoon event.  There's a cocktail reception with open bar later in the evening so say "Hi" when you see him.

He's currently hiding out in his penthouse suite at the Excalibur (Room 2801) hoping to avoid those big bad former MGM execs he's been writing about.  We told him the Excalibur is a Hilton property to make him feel at ease.

Somach will be a busy man this week.  Be sure to catch him on Elliott in the Morning, the DC-based drive show you can stream from anywhere, talking about....what else?. This week's BetMGM scandal.

We can only hope he won't be swimming with the fishes by the time this week is over.

Jagajeet Chiba reporting from Vegas, sweating my ass off.  No, I'm not the one at Table 148!!!

If it's FREE, Tom's there...Agenda below.

Las Vegas casino mogul Steve Wynn to pay $10M to end fight over claims of sexual misconduct (July 27, 2023)

(AP) — Casino mogul Steve Wynn’s long legal fight with Nevada gambling regulators over claims of workplace sexual misconduct is expected to end Thursday with a settlement calling for him to pay a $10 million fine and cut virtually all ties to the industry he helped shape in Las Vegas.

The Nevada Gaming Commission was scheduled to meet in the state capital of Carson City and accept a deal in which the 81-year-old Wynn admits no wrongdoing.

The seven-page agreement that Wynn signed July 17 with members of the investigatory Nevada Gaming Control Board said he was accused of “failure to exercise discretion and sound judgment to prevent incidents that have reflected negatively on the reputation of the gaming industry and the State of Nevada.”

Wynn, who now lives in Florida, will not attend the hearing, his attorney Colby Williams said Wednesday. Williams declined to comment about the proceedings until they are complete.

Las Vegas Blackout?  City Plans to Obscure View of Formula 1 Race From Nonpaying Hotel Guests (July 24, 2023)

Rumor has it Formula 1 executives are threatening to block views of the Vegas race unless Strip venues pay millions of dollars in "licensing" fees. #F1.

Assuming they are going to do this, the million dollar question will be HOW?

Las Vegas Locally provided some further detail of the doomed plan.

"If clubs and restaurants refuse to pony up, sales reps for F1 have warned that obstructions like barricades, stands and light stanchions could end up ruining the race for their customers."

Justin Bellamy provided a good chuckle in response.

"So someone finally figured out a way to make the resorts pay a resort fee?"

Alice Little had this to say:

"Ridiculous! Are they going to compensate us for the road work and traffic jams?"

Stay tuned folks!

Naked Vegas Casino Cat Fight was Over Married Man (July 20, 2023)

A 24-year-old mistress was seen pursuing her romantic rival with a stiletto flip-flop in a Las Vegas casino last week.  This led to a half-naked cat fight between the women.

Danielle Pertusiello, 24, and Amanda Collado, 29, were fighting in the Wynn Hotel on July 9 shortly before 6 pm.  Two other scantily clad women were seen in the video.

Both women were issued citations for disorderly conduct.

Pertusiello is an OnlyFans model who typically charges $20 a month but is running a 20 percent off deal for the next 31 days.

Collado claimed she was "hit from behind by closed fists in the back of the head" while entering a casino bathroom with Pertusiello, the report said.  Pertusiello was able to identify the woman.

She told police that she "has been dating/sleeping with a married man," and a woman, who is presumably his wife, had previously caught him "cheating on her with Danielle."

The husband's name has been redacted from the public police report.

Standoff at Caesars Palace: SWAT Sent (July 11, 2023)

A suspect is in custody following an armed standoff at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

It all began when a man forced a woman into a Caesars Palace hotel room during a barricade Tuesday morning.

Police, medical and SWAT responded to reports of a domestic dispute on one of the floors of the Palace Tower around 9:15 a.m.

It was not immediately clear whether the woman was in a relationship with the suspect.

“This disturbance ended in the male pulling a female into one of the rooms by force,” Vegas Metropolitan Police Bureau Commander Stephen Connell said.

Videos showed a smashed window and objects being thrown down to pool area below prior to the suspect being taken into custody.

Caesars Entertainment told Fox News Digital it was "cooperating fully with law enforcement officers on scene who are handling the investigation."

Neither the suspect or victim has been identified as of Tuesday afternoon.
