Social Inclusion Odds to Win the Preakness Stakes 2014: The Speed Advantage

Social Inclusion had the second shortest odds of winning the Preakness Stakes 2014 at Sportsbook.com, where you can claim up to 8% in weekly losses here.

Social Inclusion has been getting plenty of action early on with odds that were 8-1 prior to the post position draw.  The odds then opened at 5-1 thereafter and have since moved to 3.5/1.

This colt was solid his first two starts.  His first Grade 1 race at the Wood Memorial resulted in a respectable 3nd place finish.

Social Inclusion, along with Bayern at 10-1 odds, are both known for their early speed.  Neither raced at the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago.

There are questions as to whether the Pimlico dirt surface will benefit this horse the way that Gulfstream Park did.

"We'll take the lead, or at least be 1-2-3. No farther back than that. It wouldn't make any sense. This is a horse with speed, and you have to use it," owner Ron Sanchez said of Social Inclusion.

While California Chrome is the favorite to win this year’s Preakness Stakes, his final time of 2:03.66 was the slowest Kentucky Derby on a fast track since 1974.
