The Maine Little League team will be representing the New England region.

The last New England regional team to make it into an LLWS final was Cranston, Rhode Island. Trumbull, Connecticut was the last winner from this region way back in 1989.

Connecticut has had multiple teams appear in the final.  Rhode Island is the only other New England state to be represented in the final.

As for the Little League World Series itself, this will be the first time a Maine team has reached the event since Westbrook in 2005.

The Gray-New Gloucester/Raymond Little League team defeated Canton, Massachusetts Thursday night 2-1 and wins the New England Division Title.

They may be the team to beat this year.  New Gloucester went undefeated during the district and state tournaments, outscoring their opponents 70-7 over eight games.

“I dreamed about it and thought it would be cool, and we’re one game away from it,” said Anthony Piccone, 12, prior to advancing with the win over Massachusetts. “It’s the most important game of our life. Just go out and do our thing, and we’ll be right there.”

In addition to futures odds on the LLWS, BetUS is expected to offer lines on daily matchups.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
