DraftKings Now Permitting Automated Software Tools: Catching Flack From Players

A change in DraftKings policy allowing high-volume multi-entry players the use of automated software tools has not gone over well with the number two largest Daily Fantasy Sports site’s other customers.

From CalvinAyre.com:

On Wednesday, DraftKings’ director of customer experience Jon Aguiar posted news of the change in RotoGrinders, a forum for DFS junkies. Aguiar said that while DraftKings’ policy had been to “disallow automated access or scripting on the site in all cases,” the company had changed its tune following “a long internal discussion.”

Going forward, Aguiar said DraftKings will allow the use of scripts to “automate a short list of time consuming behaviors,” including creating a contest, creating a lineup, editing a lineup, entering a guaranteed contest and withdrawing from a guaranteed contest. There is “no other scripted or automated behavior that will be tolerated” and violators could face penalties “up to and including forfeiture of all winnings/balances on the site.”

The reaction has been mostly mixed with the majority of high volume players overwhelmingly liking the new policy while other payers are crying foul over the edge given pros in reacting to late roster changes or sudden changes in weather forecasts.  Some have called on DraftKings to implement the changes across the board.

The CA website with its close connections to the Bovada online poker room (formerly Bodog Poker) allude to that industry’s employment of similar features that ultimately resulted in the collapse of some Internet poker networks.

CalvinAyre.com’s Peter Amsel smugly points out:

There was a time when most online poker sites catered to the needs of the guys playing 24 tables at once. How’d that work out again?
