TCU Odds to win 2016 College Football Championship: 2nd Favorites After Buckeyes
TCU had 6-1 odds of winning the 2016 College Football Championship in their quest to dethrone Ohio State.
The Horned Frogs just missed out of playing in the College Football Playoffs last season. This is a team that many believed deserved to be in the Playoffs and could potentially have won the Championship. This was, after all, a team that went undefeated in the Big 12, but losing in a conference game.
TCU averaged 47 points and 533 total yards a game while going 12-1 last season.
Quarterback Trevone Boykin, now entering his senior year, was considered to be among the most improved players. The experience is there and the playmaking is there.
Boykin enters the season having averaged 300 yards passing and 54 yards rushing per game in 2014.
“Our team goals have not changed. It’s been the same since I stepped on campus,” the starting quarterback says.
“He knows that if we don’t win a lot of ballgames, all the rest of the hype doesn’t matter,” head coach Gary Patterson said. “He can throw for a gazillion yards and not be the Heisman Trophy winner if we go 6-6.”
TCU is listed with a total of 10.5 regular season wins in 2015 with the UNDER favored slightly.
