Roger Goodell Sticking Around as Odds Have Him -300 to Remain Commissioner

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will keep his job, at least that what the oddsmakers believe and the Commisioner reiterated he was not stepping down during a 3 pm EDT scheduled news conference Friday.  Bookmaker.eu, the oldest established North American online sportsbook, has him priced at -300 to still be Commissioner at the start of the 2015 NFL regular season.

The NO does pay out 2-1 odds.

Goodell spoke during a 3 pm EDT news conference where it became abundantly clear that he was not stepping down any time soon.

"I made a mistake.  I'm not satisfied with the process," he admitted.  "We are going to do better going foward.  We need to get some experts to help us do this better."

Tim Graham of the Buffalo News also insists Goodell is staying put.

He writes: “I've spoken to several NFL team executives, and they told me repeatedly the league is undivided in its support of its commissioner. The executives said there has been no consideration given to replacing him.”

Goodell has come under fire for his handling (or mishandling) of the Ray Rice domestic abuse case.  The NFL cut ties with Rice only after a surveillance video surfaced showing him knock unconscious his then fiancé in an Atlantic City casino elevator.  There have been claims since that Goodell had been provided with the video.  He denies these assertions.

In recent weeks a handful of other NFL players have been cited for domestic abuse.
