Ohio State Odds to Win the NCAA National Championship 2015

Ohio State odds to win the NCAA National Championship in 2015 were originally set at 10/1 at BetOnline.ag.  They were now at 40-1 due to the season-ending injury to starting quarterback Braxton Miller.

The Buckeyes come into this new season having lost two straight after a spectacular 24-0 under Urban Meyer’s tenure.  They were the +140 favorite to win the Big 10 over Wisconsin and Michigan State, both of which would pay out $300 for every $100 bet.

The defense still boasts the best line in all of College Football but Miller's absense will most certainly have a negative effect.

AthlonSports.com states its case in favor of OSU:

On one hand, Ohio State has too many unproven players, including several seniors with less-than-inspiring résumés. On the other, the roster is littered with raw athleticism and speed, which can cover up a lot of imperfections. Plus, the defensive line could be dynamite. This would appear to be a transition year if it weren’t for the fiery drive of Meyer and the unique talents of Miller. If the slick QB has a Heisman-like season, OSU likely will compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

It’s interesting to note that, while a school like Auburn is slightly favored to win the National Championship over the Buckeyes, Auburn is also being given 9 regular season wins by the oddsmakers, OSU was a favorite to win OVER -10.5 at -135, however, that number was in the process of being altered due to the injury.
