The Ravens wide receiver had one of his best postseason performances with the Baltimore Ravens this year, catching a 46 yard pass and an 18 yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco in Baltimore’s 24-9 win over the Indianapolis Colts.  He also set a franchise record of 145 receiving yards in a postseason game.

Wide receivers have been named Super Bowl MVPs in three of the last ten championship games.

Running back Ray Rice had his best game for Baltimore on November 25 against San Diego.  The Ravens had the ball at their own 37 on a 4th and long 29 when quarterback Joe Flacco passed short middle to Rice.  The running back then avoided defenders for 30 yards and managed to get the first down.  That play earned Rice the “AFC offensive Player of the Week award”.

Running backs have been named MVP in seven Super Bowls and not since 1998.

Frank Gore has enjoyed great success during this year’s post season as a San Francisco running back.

During the NFC semifinals, Gore had 90 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns in the comeback win.
