Mississippi State vs. Alabama Betting Line Opens at Crimson Tide -7

Though the Bulldogs are ranked number one in the nation, the Mississippi State vs. Alabama betting line opened with Crimson Tide hosting as a -7 favorite at BetOnline.ag.  Don’t expect this line to move much as each side was seeing balanced action early on.

Mississippi State comes into this game undefeated while Alabama has a single lost but nearly let one get away against LSU this past weekend.

In overtime, Alabama wasted no time finding the end zone against Louisiana State. On the Tigers' turn, Anthony Jennings threw four straight incomplete passes.

Crimson Tide quarterback Blake Sims had just enough time to figure LSU in order to help propel his team to a win.

"He didn't have one of his better games. It was tough," Alabama coach Nick Saban said about Sims. "He hung in there. He made some great plays when he had to. ... I'm really, really proud of way he hung in there."

Mississippi State, meanwhile, rolled over UT Martin Saturday with a final score of 45-16.  Alabama will most certainly present a greater challenge for the Bulldogs.

Heisman candidate Dak Prescott completed 14 of 23 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns. It was his school-record ninth 200-yard passing game of the season.

He also ran for 54 yards.

"Dak played pretty solid," Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen said. "He didn't have to make a lot of plays today, just manage the offense and distribute the ball. He missed one or two throws in there, but he made more than he missed."

Alabama has owned Mississippi State in past years with the Bulldogs failing to cover the current number of 7 in any of the last six meetings.
