Las Vegas on Top of Raiders Owner List

Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis says Las Vegas is at the top of his list of relocation options, this despite other NFL owners saying that the gambling hub is a nonstarter.

The NFL has long prohibited its players from visiting casinos that offer sports betting during the August through February period.

“I think the Raiders would maximize Las Vegas,” Davis said, speaking to reporters.

Gambling911.com reported back in January that Davis had been courted by Vegas billionaire Sheldon Adelson.

Adelson, in addition to being the new owner of the LVRJ, is head of the Las Vegas Sands Corp and owns several casinos.

A new $1 billion domed stadium will be home to the University of Nevada and certainly could be an enticement to the Raiders.

Davis said the city of Oakland did not have money to construct a new stadium.  Other cities under consideration for relocation include San Diego and San Antonio.

As of late March, the Raiders were coming in with 40-1 odds of winning the 2017 Super Bowl and 3-1 of winning the AFC West Division with only Kansas City having shorter odds (2-1).  The Raiders were expected to win OVER 8 regular season games.
