Heads has occurred in the last five Super Bowls and six of the last seven.  This could explain why slightly more than half the bets coming in on the coin toss were on tails.

The last two times Denver played in a Super Bowl, tails hit each time.

In 2006, when Seattle played in the Super Bowl against Pittsburgh, that game also featured a coin toss of tails.

Denver Broncos starting quarterback Peyton Manning played in and won the 2007 Super Bowl for the Indianapolis Colts.  Heads were called in that game.

Sure this is a 50/50 shot but, hey, it’s the single most bet on prop in any Super Bowl so you know you gotta do it.
