Green Bay Packers Odds to Win NFC North 2014

The Green Bay Packers odds to win the NFC North in 2014 were set at 5-7 and there is definitely value here.

Even better, the OVER/UNDER was priced at UNDER -135 but the OVER was priced around EVEN odds.

GREEN BAY PACKERS
Super Bowl Odds:
12/1
NFC Title Odds: 6/1
NFC North Odds: 5/7
O/U Win Total: 10.5 UNDER -135

WalterFootball.com pretty much sums up why the value on the Pack is so good:

The Packers won the NFC North in 2013 despite not having Aaron Rodgers around for half the year. It's difficult to see them squandering the division title if Rodgers manages to play the whole slate. Green Bay is easily one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl.

Enter Julius Peppers and the outlook only gets that much better.

Monte Scates of Don Best Advantage, which features some of the best video betting previews on the Net, offered up this analysis of the Packers upcoming season:

The Packers will again rely on All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers to shoulder the load this season. Rodgers is hoping that he will get some help out of the backfield from running back Eddie Lacy, who was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year last season.

Green Bay also needs more out of its secondary this year, as that unit struggled versus the pass last season but added a first-round draft pick in Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to help out. The Pack also added former Bears defensive end Julius Peppers through free agency to help Clay Matthews pressure the passer.

Green Bay is typically a guarantee to win at least 7 games during any season provided Aaron Rodgers is not injured.  That’s because the Packers are 31-6 at home when he is starting over the past five years.  Do the math, that’s 1.2 losses at home per season.   They will also play Miami, Buffalo, Minnesota and Tampa Bay on the road, which should push them over the 10.5 total.
