Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has pulled out of the England squad due to a bruised thigh.

A statement on the FA website read: "Walcott reported with a slightly bruised thigh and was unable to train fully, so has returned to his club as a precaution."

Also out are Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, keeper Joe Hart and striker Daniel Sturridge.

Still, more than 50 percent of those betting this friendly matchup were backing the English side.

England's last match was their elimination by the Italians on penalties at Euro 2012 (0-0 draw).

Italy could become only the fourth side to win over three games against the Three Lions in England in this match after Scotland, Wales and (West) Germany.

The Three Lions have only won one of their last 10 meetings with Italy (D3 L6).

England have kept a clean sheet in eight of their last 12 games.

Italy have lost their last three friendly matches without scoring.
