With the New England Patriots back in the Super Bowl since a resulting suspension of Tom Brady due to his alleged role in the big Deflategate scandal broke two years ago, some of the online bookmakers, including Bookmaker.eu, are offering a bet prop on the number of times Deflategate is mentioned during the Super Bowl 51 broadcast.

The OVER/UNDER at most books is 2.5 with a price of between EVEN and -115.

Deflategate is so synonymous with the Patriots it has even earned it very own Wikipedia page:

(Deflategate) was a National Football League (NFL) controversy involving the allegation that the New England Patriots tampered with footballs used in the American Football Conference (AFC) Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts on January 18, 2015. The league announced on May 11, 2015, that it would suspend Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for four games of the 2015 regular season for his alleged part in the scandal.

Prior to 2006, NFL custom was for the home team to provide all of the game footballs.  The Wells Report relied on scientific analysis performed by Exponent and supported by Dr. Daniel Marlow, a professor of Physics at Princeton University. This analysis concluded that within the range of game conditions and circumstances studied, no set of environmental or physical factors could account for the loss of air pressure exhibited by the Patriots game balls. The scientific study supported the report's conclusion that the loss of air pressure may be accounted for by human intervention.

It’s an ugly footnote in Patriots NFL history especially with the team’s dominance for well over a decade now under the Tom Brady era.
