DraftKings VIP Program: $29.84 Limits?
Gambling911.com recently came across a Reddit posting by an individual offering his experience with a DraftKings VIP program invite. Can you say "Epic Fail"?
Players have long complained about US regulated sportsbooks - not all of them - drastically reducing limits. It's fair to say Draftkings is among the biggest offenders. They're not exactly shy about it either.
Here is the post in question:
"Earlier today I got a message from a VIP manager giving me an offer 30% deposit match up to 3000, max 10k. I put in 10k, got 3000 in bonus bets and went to place these bets and now all of a sudden my maximum limit is $29.84 on every single bet? I was placing bets well over a $100 just yesterday, pretty confused by this has anyone that has gone through this help me out?"
As one might expect, there were plenty of responses, not all pertaining to just DraftKings. Oh yes, Penn Entertainment does the same thing. Their Barstool Sportsbook app is now ESPN Bet.
"I see you have learned, I had the same scenario play out on barstool sports, they make you “VIP” then they limit your bets and in my case barstool even took away my debit card and Venmo withdrawals so my only choice was to withdraw via ACH.
"These legal books ain’t bookmakers, they are dressmakers and if you show you win more often than you lose or take them for a significant amount in a short period of time they make you “VIP” which really means they have marked you as a sharp bettor."
Another individual wrote:
"I had a similar experience with BETESPN. Host reached out and asked if I had a VIP host assigned. I said no, and I was interested. I think this must have triggered some sort of review on my wagering, because an hour prior to our interaction I could place a $5k wager on a prop bet, and 10 minutes later I can barely make a $10 prop bet. She said I could make a $10k deposit and receive a 20% bonus which had to be earned through wagering, but it would take me 5 years to wager that much after I was apparently very limited. Interesting stuff…"
The lesson learned here may very well be.....avoid responding to sportsbook VIP hosts. Oh, and don't win consistanty.
