Despite not being regulated in Iowa, sports betting sites holding international licenses like BetUS remain popular here.  This is perhaps a result of the Iowa regulated books not being able to accept credit cards or take bets on college props.  BetUS not only accepts credit card deposits, they even allow funding via Bitcoin, and they offer a wealth of player and game props on Iowa teams.  Below find the betting analyses for both the Hawkeyes and Cyclones.

Futures Odds Iowa Hawkeyes, ISU Cyclones

The Iowa Hawkeyes are -145 favorites to win OVER 7.5 regular season games in 2023.

The Iowa State Cyclones are -145 favorites to win OVER 5.5 regular season games.

Week 3 Iowa State Cyclones @ Ohio Bobcats

The Cyclones performed poorly versus their interstate rivals last week.  They were a -3 to -3.5 road favorite.

Iowa State was coming in at No. 35 on Sagarin (77.38) with Ohio No. 86 (66.22).  The home field advantage was set at 2.24.  We get a line of -8.92 ISU or an underlay of 6 points.

These tend to be very good for the favorites based on our model findings.

Iowa State looks like an enticing play here at -3.

Week 2 Iowa Hawkeyes @ Iowa State Cyclones

The two schools meet this week.  While the Cyclones won the last meeting in 2022, the Hawkeyes were victorious in the previous six meetings.  Four of those covered by more than the current spread of Iowa -3.5.

We get a number of -2.63 here, but for Iowa State.  This means, not only is the wrong team favored, but there is an overlay of 6.  The dog covered in 80% of our sampling from last season when the line stayed above 3 and hit the 3.5 with an overlay.  And this is a significant overlay.

Sagarin has Iowa ranked No. 25 (79.58) and Iowa State ranked No. 26 (79.31), basically the same talent level in the numbers game.  This week's home field advantage is set at 2.90.  That's what gives the Cyclones the edge and the reason we are loving Iowa State +4.

Cade McNamara threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns on 17-for-30 passing for Iowa against Utah State.  The Hawkeyes had a tough time getting their running game going last week finishing with just 88 yards on 36 carries

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz believes it will be tough to move the ball on the ground against this week's interstate opponent.

"The challenge is they make it really tough to run, and they've done a great job of that," Ferentz said of the Cyclones. "They really tackle well at all positions, and you can't say that about every football team."

Defensive back Jeremiah Cooper headlined Iowa State's defense last Saturday, recording a pair of interceptions.

Around 60% of the spread backing is on the Hawkeyes.

Aiyuk-Deebo Trade Odds and ROY Shift

Xavier Worthy = Tyreek Hill 2.0?  Perhaps, and if that comes to fruition at any point in the future, the Bills only have themselves to blame.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
