A lot of the ingredients are in place for the Chicago Cubs as a -162 favorite to take Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers (+147).
First, the action is 60/40 in favor of the Brewers and the oddsmakers have allowed the line to mostly sit at a still appealing -160 or below at many books (the -162 being an outlier of sorts). Moving the line down would discourage action on Milwaukee. Instead we see books moving the number up to -170, which only enhances the price for the Brewers.
Second, the Cubs have beaten Milwaukee in eight of the last ten games.
The Cubs are also 10-3 in Jose Quintana’s last 13 starts and 8-1 in his last 9 home starts.
Milwaukee, meanwhile, is 1-5 in Jose Guerra's last 6 starts after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game.
