Odds to Win 2010 World Series

The odds to win the 2010 World Series have been released at betED.com.

The Major League Baseball season opens April 4 and Baseball Betting fans are making their picks for the 2010 World Series winner.

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the reigning champion New York Yankees are listed as a favorite to win the 2010 World Series.  They typically open in that spot.

What should come as a surprise, however, is that the Yankees are a pretty good value, paying $300 for every $100 bet.

Another annual favorite to win, the Boston Red Sox, had odds of +475.  The 2008 champion Philadelphia Phillies odds to win the 2010 World Series were at +625 for a $625 win potential on every $100 bet

Why are the Yankees not a shorter favorite to win this year's World Series?

The defending champion Yankees are returning nearly every key player from last season's championship team.

The only question mark right now is free-agent slugger Johnny Damon, who remains unsigned and appears unlikely to be headed back to the Bronx Bombers.

After the World Series win, Damon told the Yankees he wanted to re-sign with the club - but only if it was for at least the $13 million he earned for the past four years. The Yankees balked and then signed first-baseman Nick Johnson and outfielder Randy Winn.

With or without Damon in the lineup, you might want to consider locking the +300 odds in now.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
