Priced at $9.8K, Tanaka faces a White Sox club he permitted to hit only one run against the last time facing them.  He has pitched seven inningsor more in four of his last five appearances.

At 1-0, 3.11, Tanaka allowed six runs on seven hits with four strikeouts over seven innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Royals. (Tue May 10).  He has thus far given up five home runs this season, all at Yankees Stadium, but otherwise has been superb this season.

ARCHIVED

April 10 - While Tanaka has enjoyed overall success against the Toronto Blue Jays during his career, we say stay clear.

Edwin Encarnacion has managed to go 7-for-14 against him while Toronto is in the midst of a 10-game winning streak following a shutout of their opponent the past two seasons.

Priced at $9100, Tanaka was supposed to have started against Detroit on Sunday but that game was postponed.

ESPN.com writes of Tanaka’s performance last season:

The 27-year-old also experienced slight regression in several major categories in his second season stateside, with increases in ERA (3.51), walk rate (1.6 BB/9), HR/9 (1.5) and HR/FB (16.9%). Tanaka nevertheless demonstrated above-average control and lowered the batting average he surrendered to hitters from both sides of the plate.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
