Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees: (betting available at SBG Global)

Thursday, 7:05 pm Eastern - MLB Network

The Los Angeles Angels and New York Yankees conclude their series on Thursday as Scott Kazmir goes against Phil Hughes.  The Yankees have started the baseball betting season strongly while the Angels have struggled. New York is favored in this game that can be seen on the MLB Network.

SBG Global Current Line: Yankees - 170 , Total 10 Under - 120

Kazmir will be making his first start of the season for the Angels on Thursday.  He pitched 6 1/3 innings in a California League rehab assignment last Friday night.  He threw 93 pitches as he allowed three earned runs on eight hits.  Kazmir has had some success in his career against the Yankees. He is 6-5 with a 2.67 ERA in 15 appearances, 14 as a starter, against the Yankees.

Hughes will be making his first start of the season in this game.  He is the fifth starter for the Yankees and in the first couple of weeks he was skipped in the rotation since New York had off days.  Hughes pitched twice in simulated games at the club's Minor League complex in Tampa to get ready for this start. Last season Hughes was 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA over four innings of work against the Angels.

Normally the Angels are very good in the third game of a series. They are 46-17 in their last 63 game number threes of a series.  The Angels are 36-17 in their last 53 Thursday games. The Angels are 5-2 in Kazmir's last 7 starts.

The Yankees are 39-17 in their last 56 games vs. a left-handed starter. New York also is very good in game three's going 72-32 in their last 104 games.

The Yankees are 7-2 in Hughes' last 9 home starts.

Looking at the total in this MLB betting game we see that the Under is 11-2 in the Angels last 13 road games vs. a right-handed starter. The Under is 6-2 in Kazmir's last 8 starts overall. The The Under is 4-0 in the Yankees last 4 home games vs. a left-handed starter. The Under is 10-2-1 in the Yankees last 13 home games. The Under is 3-1-2 in Hughes' last 6 home starts.

Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks:

The Los Angeles Dodgers host the Arizona Diamondbacks in an NL West contest. These teams played into extra innings last night, so arms will be quite tired tonight, and an added emphasis on the starting pitchers will be in demand. The Diamondbacks are -105 favorites, with a total of 7.5 runs expected tonight. This West Coast game starts at 10:10 EDT.

Los Angeles lost their 1st home game of the season last night in extra innings. The Dodgers lost 7-9 to Arizona, losing not only the battle but also the war. The Dodgers used 7 relief pitchers in defeat, so much will be expected from Hiroki Kuroda tonight. The Dodgers can only hope  Kuroda can be as productive tonight as he was in his season debut. Kuroda pitched 8 innings on the road against Florida and didn't allow an earned run. He only allowed 5 hits, while striking out 7. Kuroda is considered a sleeper candidate for the NL Cy Young award this season. Kuroda has struggled against the Diamondbacks in his career, as he is 1-3 over 6 starts against them. To no surprise, the Dodgers have fared well when Kuroda takes the mound. The  Dodgers are 7-1 in Kurodas last 8 home starts against a team with a winning record. Overall, the Dodgers are 9-4 in Kurodas last 13 starts.

The Dodgers are 5-0 in their last 5 home games against a right-handed starter. The Over is 16-5-1 in the Dodgers last 22 games against a team with a winning record. Catcher Brad Ausmus won't be playing tonight, as he's out with a back injury.

Arizona was able to beat the Dodgers as a rather large underdog last night, to improve their season long record to 5-3. Arizona will be looking to win their 3rd straight series to start the season. Dan Haren will be making his 3rd start of the young season in front of friends and family. Haren couldn't have 2 different results for his 2 starts this season. Haren dominated the Padres in his season debut, only allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run in 7 innings of winning pitching. Haren followed that performance up with a weak showing against the Pirates. Haren again pitched into the 7th inning, but allowed 9 hits and 5 earned runs in defeat. Overall, the Diamondbacks have fared well with Haren on the mound, just not in the underdog role. Overall, the Diamondbacks are 23-9 in Harens last 32 starts against a team with a losing record. However, the Diamondbacks are 2-5 in Harens last 7 starts as the listed road underdog.

The Diamondbacks are 3-9 in their last 12 games as a road underdog. The Under is 8-2 in the Diamondbacks last 10 road games against a right-handed starter. Catcher Miguel Montero is on the disabled list with an injured knee.

Pregame.com projects the final score to be 4-2 in favor of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks -105 is the Play of the Day!

Twins vs. Red Sox:

The Minnesota Twins host the Boston Red Sox in the final game on their 3 game series. This is the rubber game, and both teams want this game badly. The Twins would love to win their 1st home series in their new stadium, while the Red Sox would love to get back over .500 in the standings. The Twins are -130 favorites, with a total of 9 runs expected tonight. This AL clash begins at 1:10 EDT.

Minnesota lost their 1st game in their new stadium yesterday, so they will be anxious to get back on the field. The Twins lost to the Red Sox 3-6, tying the most runs they've allowed all season. The Twins stand at 6-3 this season with much to look forward to. Minnesota hosts the Royals and Indians at home in their next 2 seasons, so it appears the Twins are going to be a fixture at the top of the AL standings all year long. Rrancisco Liriano will take the mound for the 2nd time this season for the Twins. Liriano went 6 IP, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits with 5 walks against the White Sox. Liriano is expected to play a vital role on this pitching staff, yet he appears to still have control issues. The Twins are only 3-9 in Liriano's last 12 starts as the listed favorite. Despite all of their success, the Twins are only 3-7 in their last 10 meetings with the Red Sox.

The Twins are 7-1 in their last 8 games as a favorite of -110 to -150. The Under is 20-5-2 in the Twins last 27 games against the American League East. Catcher Jose Morales is out with a wrist injury.

Boston is back to .500 on the season, thanks to a 6-3 win over the Twins yesterday. The Red Sox are looking to get over .500 for the 1st time since Opening Day. With a win this afternoon, the Red Sox can have a winning 1st road trip. Boston will hand the ball to Tim Wakefield this afternoon, and he will look to pick up his 1st win of the season. Wakefield was solid against the Royals in his season debut, allowing 2 runs over 7 IP. The crafty veteran allowed 6 hits while striking out 6 batters with his patented knuckleball. The Red Sox are 9-22 in the last 31 games when Wakefield started as the listed road underdog. Boston has also lost their past 4 games when Wakefield started for them. Clearly the Red Sox need to help Wakefield with more offensive production. The Red Sox offense has scored at least 6 runs in 3 of their past 4 games, so it's likely Wakefield will get the support he's been lacking.

The Red Sox are 2-9 in their last 11 games as a road underdog of +110 to +150. The Under is 22-5-1 in the Red Sox last 28 games as the listed road underdog. Center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury is out with an injury to his ribs. Shortstop Jed Lowrie is also out due to an illness.

Pregame.com projects the final score to be 6-5 in favor of the Minnesota Twins. The Over 9 is the Total of the Day!
