For a long time the Tote has rather relied on its status of being ‘good for racing’, and while that is still very much true, the product is now very competitive, especially during World Pool days which are everyday of Royal Ascot. The Tote now believe that every punter need to check their prices before placing bet:

UK Tote: Things You May Not Know

The Tote has a number of unique selling points of which many are familiar.

Now, the UK Tote has added a competitive edge to the traditional fare. Take World Pool races (all Royal Ascot, King George Diamond Day, first 3 days of Goodwood, first 3 days of York Ebor Festival) the overround stands at just 5%, often less. This is well ahead of the fixed-odds bookmakers and, highly competitive, even against the exchange(s) but, with the guaranteed ability to ‘get on’.

Simplified, this means that the UK Tote, on the very biggest races, is up to 7% better value than the fixed odds marketplace i.e a bigger price for the punter.

Also worthy of note:

  • Saturday’s Cazoo Derby (June 4th) broke the record pool for a single race

And the meeting as whole showed: UK Tote Win beat SP in 11 of the 14 races, UK Tote Win overround was 105% vs SP overround of 116%, UK Tote Exacta beat Forecast on 11 out of 14 races, UK Tote Trifecta beat Tricast on 6 out of 9 races

  • The Exacta almost always pays out higher than that of the Computer Straight Forecast (and the bet is especially interesting in small field races which racing is seeing a lot of at the moment)
  • The 10 minutes leading up to a race is when the vast majority of win and each-way bets are placed. It really does now pay to take a glance at the UK Tote App/Screen/Site in this period. This is ‘Tote Time’ and tangibly worth those seeking value
  • No stake limit
  • No punter is restricted or barred, hence most professional/shrewd horseracing punters now use the Tote
  • World Pool Races are enjoyed by a lot of overseas punters whose choices are primarily ‘jockey-lead’ so if you fancy a horse not ridden by Ryan Moore or Frankie then there is value to be had
  • During Royal Ascot there are free-to-enter, play-to-earn daily betting tournaments: the Tote offers cash prizes throughout the day with its play-to-earn leader board tournaments which are accompanied by a live blog from professional punters

UK Tote Group CEO, Alex Frost, explains: “The stats are speaking for themselves – the New Tote is now an essential part of every smart punter’s armoury. If you are having a bet in the 10 minutes before the race, you are in Tote Time: we are the only place where you can reliably access a market-beating price. And if you want to place a forecast, our Exacta and Trifecta bets produce the best pay-out the vast majority of the time.”

He added: “With every day of Royal Ascot offering World Pool races I am very confident we will continue to break the records set at the Derby meeting.”
