It was the highest scoring game in Monday Night Football history.  The Rams beat the Chiefs 54-51 in an epic bout, perhaps one of the best games of the season thus far.

If the Chiefs and Rams were to have combined for more than the previous highest scoring NFL game Monday night, the payout would have been 20-1.  That previous game was a matchup between the Redskins beat the Giants 72-41 (113 combined pts) way back in 1966.  They just missed that target but the game produced the third highest total in NFL history.

According to Dave Mason of BetOnline, some 63% of those betting the spread at +3 were backing LA.  That became a push.

A significant amount of action was on the OVER 63.5. That caused most books a little bit of pain.

Michael Grodsky, spokesperson for William Hill, told ESPN the game was a "healthy seven-figure loss" for the book, with 69 percent of customers betting the over there, a slightly lower percentage to that of BetOnline.

BetOnline made out nicely with high volume money line bets backing Kansas City however.  Mason revealed via Twitter that some 63% of the these bets were on the Chiefs.

"It was a whirlwind," said Rams coach Sean McVay. "I feel like I might need a couple beverages to relax tonight. But it was great. This is what you love so much about the game.''
