Oregon- The Ducks have gotten hot late and won the PAC 12, beating favorite and conference leader Washington.  They have won their last eight and covered in their last eight.  Payton Pritchard (12.2 points, 4.3 assists per game) is a solid player to watch.  They are one of the hottest teams playing right now and get to face a battered Badgers squad then on to play either UC Irvine or Kansas States.

Wisconsin- The Badgers' biggest wins were over Maryland, Michigan and Iowa (twice). Wisconsin defends very well but injuries have racked up and Happ has his limitations (including not being able to make his free throws).

Predictions

AthlonSports: "Aesthetically, this might be the least appealing of the even matchups in the first round. Oregon and Wisconsin make opponents fight for every look at the basket, which isn't the most visually satisfying style for casual observers. However, their similar styles makes for an intriguing showdown.

"Wisconsin has the best individual player in this game with Happ, which often makes the difference in a seemingly even matchup. Oregon's outstanding play of late suggests the Ducks have finally tapped into the potential that made it a preseason Top 25 team, however. The result is likely to be directly correlated to the production Wisconsin gets from Happ, and what Oregon gets out of King."

CBS Sports:

Oregon is a trendy upset pick for Round 1 (this is not the second round and I will not call it that), and that seems fair. Wisconsin has definitely had the better year, but they haven’t been clicking lately and Oregon has found their stride. Wisconsin should still be the favorite but this has the feel of one those stereotypical 5/12 matchups.

Action vs. Line Movement

Action is relatively balanced on this game.

Line

Wisconsin is a -2 favorite.  Sagarin suggests the line should be Badgers -3.5.
