Top Trends (Coming Into Tuesday)

  • Red Sox 4-0 last four versus Mets going back to last year.
  • Blue Jays vs. Rays: Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Tampa Bay.
  • Astros vs. Angels: Over is 10-4 in the last 14 meetings in Los Angeles.
  • Giants vs. Padres: OVER is 8-1 in last 9 meetings.

Game Watch

1. Blue Jays vs. Rays - Alek Manoah TOR (6-2, 3.39) vs. Drew Rasmussen TB (3-0, 2.57)

Rasmussen spun five shutout innings Tuesday in Toronto in the Rays' 2-0 victory.  This marked his third consecutive win.  The red-hot Blue Jays hit some hard balls off the right-hander, but Rasmussen limited them to just two hits and a walk.

Manoah struck out 10 while allowing just one hit in eight scoreless innings Monday in a victory over the Rays.  He yielded three runs in 5 2/3 innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Yankees the start before that one.

In the end, none of this will likely matter.  The Blue Jays have hit 6 or more runs in six of their last ten games.  Tampa has hit five or more in half of their last ten.

The total has moved to 8 to 8.5.

2. Astros vs. Angels -  Jose Urquidy HOU (7-3, 3.38) vs. Packy Naughton LAA (0-2, 4.32)

The total is 9 and hasn't come off that number.

Urquidy tossed six innings of one-run ball on Wednesday with six strikeouts to pick up the win as the Astros defeated the Rangers 7-2.  Previous to that, he allowed two runs in each of his last two starts.

Naughton surrendered four runs on six hits over 2 2/3 innings in Tuesday's loss to the White Sox.  Previous to that, Naughton struck out five over five scoreless innings on Tuesday in his start against the Padres, but didn't factor into the decision.

3. Boston Red Sox - Marcus Stroman NYM (9-12, 2.88) vs. Eduardo Rodriguez BOS (11-8, 5.00)

Stroman won his last start but has been pounded hard by Red Sox batters.

Xander Bogaerts has hit 11 of 36 at bats versus Stroman including two homers.  Christian Vazquez has hit 7 of 19.  Travis Shaw is 5 of 17.

Rodriguez has not had a win in his last two starts.

The Mets have scored three or fewer runs in half of their last ten.  The Red Sox have scored seven or more runs in their last five games.

We will be on Red Sox -135 tonight.

Recap

We just missed our OVER play yesterday on the Cards-Brewers game as the total was listed at 8 and we hit 7 runs.
