Dad Who Died of Covid Was Casino Floor Manager
The 39-year-old father of five children who died of Covid-19 after texting his wife that he 'should have gotten the damn vaccine' was an Assistant Floor Manager at the M Casino.
Mike Freedy, known as “Big Mike", died two weeks ago as the pandemic continues to surge in the US once again.
In honor of Freedy, The M opened an on-site vaccination clinic.
“He was only 39; our babies now don’t have a dad,” Freedy's fiance, Jessica DuPreez, said through tears. “You can’t say, ‘I’m young, and it won’t affect me.’ Because it will.”
"He was a gentle giant with a warm heart and was personable with his team members and guests,” M Resort executives said in a statement reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “He took pride in his job and everyone who knew him, knew his greatest joy was his family.”
