Stan Van Gundy          +3300

Becky Hammon           +5000

Jay Wright                   +5000

Mike Krzyzewski         +8000

Phil Jackson                 +10000

LeBron James              +15000

Mark Jackson

Just a few weeks ago he was not even listed among the odds, now he's the favorite paying $200 for every $100 bet.  My how quickly things can change.

BetOnline released their updated odds instilling Jackson as the odds-on favorite after he was given the blessing by the anointed one, Lebron James.

Jackson became a broadcast commentator for ESPN and ABC following a successful NBA playing career.  Jackson is also a former head coach of the Golden State Warriors.  In 2013, Jackson took the team to their first playoffs appearance in six years with a 47-35 record.

The next season, Golden State improved to 51–31, the team's first season with 50 or more wins since 1993–94.  They reached the playoffs in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1992, but lost in the first round to the Los Angeles Clippers in seven games. On May 6, 2014, Jackson was removed as head coach of the Warriors and replaced by Steve Kerr who ultimately took the Warriors to their first NBA title in 40 years.

Nick Nurse

The Toronto Raptors head coach had been listed at 6-1 odds and was now at +350.

He too has been Lebron approved.

SB Nation's Jack Rude writes:

Nurse would, unquestionably, be an upgrade even for how underrated Vogel was by too many Laker fans. After leading Toronto to a title with Kawhi Leonard, Nurse has overseen a rebuild for the franchise while remaining competitive. Eventually, with a new core, Nurse has the Raptors back in the playoffs this season.

Nurse is among those who wasn't exactly thrilled with how the Lakers handled ridding itself of Vogel.

David Fizdale

The current Lakers assistant coach, he was the odds on favorite early on.

Fizdale now pays $700 on a $100 bet, tied with Doc Rivers.

He's considered the most logical candidate, but this is the Lakers and they might need a slightly bigger name.

Fizdale also fizzed out during his two previous head coach tenures.  His brief running leading the Knicks was disastrous.

Doc Rivers

Rivers tells us to ignore the rumors.  He's committed to ensuring the playoffs-bound 76ers are going to make it all the way.

“I think it’s disrespectful to all the other coaches,” said Rivers. “If I can say something about my job, then I would say this that I don’t like has changed. I just think the rumors about coaches taking jobs, coaches getting fired, I just think for my profession, it makes our job so much harder and I think it’s so unfair.”

Rivers is a big name the Lakers can certainly use.  He also pays $700 on a $100 bet, tied with Fizdale among the odds.

List Rivers among those who believe the Lakers handled Vogel's firing poorly.

“I think the Frank Vogel thing was so unfair,” Rivers continued. “We work just like you guys (the media) work. How would you like for your job to be mentioned every day even if it’s somebody wanting to have you? It’s just not right. I hate it. There’s nothing I can do about it, but we talk a lot here and everybody’s happy here. We want to get this right.”

Mike Brown

Currently he's the last of those in the single digits, promising a payout of $750 for every $100 bet.

Brown is the associate head coach for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association and the head coach of the Nigerian National Basketball Team.

He's coached Lebron into the Finals as the Cavs head coach and has spent some time under Steve Kerr's wings. We're pretty certain he'll be a head coach once again, even if it's not with the Lakers.

It should also be noted that Brown had previously served as head coach of the Lakers, succeeding Phil Jackson.
