Denny Hamlin won the All-Star race at Charlotte Motor Speedway last week but that race doesn’t tell us much as it was more for show than anything else although Hamlin did pick up the big money. It has been all Harvick and Johnson on 1.5 mile tracks this season. Harvick has finished first or second in all four races while Johnson has won three of the four. Kurt Busch is a teammate of Harvick so you have to throw him into the mix as a contender to win on Sunday. That should also mean that Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kasey Kahne are contenders since they are teammates of Johnson.

Johnson has won this race four times and he has won seven times overall in Charlotte. Harvick won last fall in Charlotte and has won three times in his career at the track.

If you don’t go with one of the Hendrick drivers or with Harvick or Busch then you can at least consider Joey Logano who has the best career average finish among all active drivers at Charlotte. His teammate Brad Keselowski could also be worth a look.
