Race Notes

Dixon won the Indy 500 from the pole in 2008 and Helio Castroneves won starting first in 2009 but in the last five years the pole sitter has lost. Dixon was very good from 2006 through 2012 in this race as he was no worse than 6th but in the last two years he finished 14th and 29th.

Simon Pagenaud has had three starts at Indy with a best finish of 8th two years ago. Will Power has never won this race but he did win the Grand Prix of Indianapolis. Tony Kanaan won the 2013 Indy 500 and he has six other finishes in the Top 10 while Helio Castroneves won in 2001, 2002 and 2009 and he just missed winning last year.
