Dennis Phillips

With four days left on his Ebay auction to net an additional sponsor for the WSOP Main Event, Dennis Phillips has currently attracted 21 bids with the top offer standing at $13,100.00. Launched a few days ago, 100% of the proceeds from the auction will go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Bidders are trying to win the rights to display their logo on a 10 square inch patch that will be on his right arm during the televised final table this November.

While Dennis clearly has a primary sponsor for the event (Poker Stars), this auction will allow one more sponsor to share the spotlight. If the bidding were to end now, the price would a relative bargain for such exposure. The televised final table is expected to be the most watched poker event in history and is set to be re-broadcast at least 8 times. Of course, if the final table is anything like the Moneymaker final table with Sammy Farha it will run FAR more than just 8 times in re-run land.

Win or lose, Dennis has made quite the statement about the power of generosity. He's giving 100% of the proceeds of this auction to a noble charity. Poker Stars is also going to match the 1% of whatever amount Dennis cashes for in the event with that money going to the "Put a bad beat on cancer" non-profit group.
