Canada Continues Its Dominance At 2010 WSOP
Oh Canada, Oh Canada. Three Canadian players have held onto three of the top 5 spots in the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) throughout the day Saturday.
Jonathan Duhamel, who for a short time was the chip leader, qualified for the 2010 WSOP through PokerStars.com. He comes to us from Boucherville, Quebec and is one of two players in the top 10 from that province. At press time he had the 4th largest number of chips.
Pascal LeFrancois of Rosemere, Quebec, Canada was the 3rd chip leader. His winnings to date in live tournaments were just over $500,000, and really from only one recent WSOP event. LeFrancois’s biggest win came this year at Event #8 - WSOP No Limit Hold'emwhere he took home $568,974 and a bracelet. He is certainly someone to keep a close eye on.
Canadian Matthew Jarvis was the 5th biggest chip leader coming into Saturday’s play and remained entrenched there by evening.
The British Columbia native’s highest finish to date in a live poker tournament was in 2008 at the Pacific Poker Shootout, where he came in 3rd place.
