Grand Fantasy Sports Launched by Minnesota Indian Tribes - Gaming tribes across the US have pretty much stayed on the sidelines when it comes to offering daily fantasy sports. That is changing in a major way, as a tribe in Minnesota has launched a DFS site in advance of the upcoming NFL season that will be shopped to other tribes with gambling interests.

Maine Lawmakers Contemplate Daily Fantasy Sports Legislation - Maine will join the growing number of states that will consider legislation next year to regulate Daily Fantasy Sports contests.  Republican state Sen. Roger Katz of Augusta said at a conference this week that  DFS represents a growing business with more than 57 million players nationally, potentially requiring a closer look on the state level.  “Should there be some regulation of these leagues to make sure that consumers are being protected when these leagues come into a state?” he said. “Secondly, is this a possible revenue source as well?”

Premier Punt Joins Forces With Southampton Football Club - Southampton Football Club announced that Premier Punt have become their Official Fantasy Sports Betting Partner.   The Edinburgh-based social gaming and betting company signed a multi-year deal with Saints ahead of the 2016/17 campaign. 

DraftKings, FanDuel to Drastically Cut Back on TV Advertising This NFL Season - After inundating sports fans with a barrage of commercials during last year’s football season, fantasy-sports websites FanDuel Inc. and DraftKings Inc. are cutting back sharply on their advertising, as they seek to rein in spending and limit the impression—partly created by their own ads—that they are peddling a form of gambling.  FanDuel Chief Executive Nigel Eccles says the company is cutting way back on commercials and rebranding both its website and its commercials.  FanDuel and DraftKings together spent an estimated $500 million on advertising last year.  Mr. Eccles said in a recent interview that his company is spending less than half of what it spent last year.

Daily Fantasy Sports Operator Launches in Australasia - Oulala.com, the daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator and B2B provider, will unveil its monetised platform for Australasia and the Indian subcontinent at the beginning of the new football season. This May, the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade held a hearing to “consider whether there is a federal role to play” in regulating the industry.

NY Governor Delays Signing of Daily Fantasy Sports Bill - New York daily fantasy sports (DFS) has been passed by the state’s legislature, but residents in the Empire State still can’t legally play. That’s because Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) still hasn’t called for the bill to his desk, even though it was approved back on June 18.
