  • Last week’s slot machine glitch prevented winners from getting paid
  • Father left two-year old and a baby in car parked outside casino for close to an hour while he gambled inside
  • Two grannies were carjacked and kidnapped in that same lot just last year
  • Casino had to deal with cheating scheme earlier in the year

The Motor City Casino in Detroit has had quite an unlucky past couple of days.

First we told Gambling911.com readers about faulty slots that would not pay out for hours.

In the early morning hours Friday, players were unable to print their cash ticket from the machines, due to what the said was an issue with their ‘ticket out system.’

The casino eventually prevented players from visiting the first floor where the slots were located.

It only got worse Monday with the arrest of a father who left his two-year-old and a 5-month old baby in the car parked outside so he could go into the casino and gamble.

Leaving kids alone anywhere is bad enough but this is Detroit.

The Motor City Casino isn’t in the best of areas.  In just a three month period in 2014, for example, the casino itself reported 31 crimes and just last year, two grandmothers were robbed, carjacked and kidnapped in the casino parking lot.

The 25-year-old dad left the children in the car for nearly an hour before they were discovered, and at the time he was still inside gambling.

"That amount of time, especially with children that young, it's very dangerous," said Sgt. Michael Woody.

The children were returned to family members Monday afternoon.

MotorCity Casino issued the following statement Monday:

An observant MotorCity Casino employee noticed the children alone inside the car in our covered parking structure and immediately reported it. We then promptly contacted DPD and took steps to extricate the children from the car and ensure their safety.  The children are fine and the matter is now being handled by law enforcement.

Earlier this year the casino had to deal with cheating scheme that culminated in the arrest of seven individuals.
