A man accused of shooting another man to death at a casino last week then turning the gun on himself has died from his wounds.

Last Tuesday, around 6:49 a.m., authorities were called to reports of a deadly shooting at the Grand Casino just outside of Shawnee where  it was determined that the gunman, Justin Wells, 28, had shot to death 22-year-old Matthew Palmer on the casino floor.  Both men were security guards at the casino and reportedly were friends though Palmer’s father told local media they had a falling out of some type recently.

Police indicated that the shooting was a murder/attempted suicide.

Because the casino is on federal land, the FBI was called in to investigate.

A motive for the shooting was not immediately known.
