Rolando McClain, Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders are being named in a number of potential trade rumors as recipients of big name players.  First they were Rumored to be getting Donovan McNabb (that didn't happen).  The last 24 hours we have heard talk of Ben Roethlisberger being traded to the Raiders.  Oakland came one step closer to boosting their roster with their 8th overall pick of Rolando McClain in Thursday's First Round of the NFL Draft.

What might the Rolando McClain pick do in terms of an immediate impact for Oakland?

Well, they get the best inside linebacker for starters.

McClain played a key role in helping Alabama win the national championship last season. The Raiders hope he can have as big an impact in Oakland. The Raiders finished 29th in run defense last season, allowing 155.5 yards per game.

There is a problem with the Raiders pick. They are more in need of an offensive tackle, defensive tackle and quarterback and the selection of McClain will surely open Oakland up to more criticism.

Gamblng911.com believes, in their current state, the Raiders will be listed with OVER/UNDER odds of winning 5 to 5 ½ games during the 2010 NFL regular season (odds to be released shortly at betED.com)

Oakland is hoping a more athletic, hard-hitting player like McClain will help the team become stronger vs. the run, Yahoo Sports suggests.
