As always it was another exciting College Football Season, followed by an even better Bowl Season. This previous Monday featured the two Semi-Final Playoff Games, which produced two thrilling games where two SEC teams in the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs were victorious.

The Bulldogs had a heart-stopping double overtime victory against the Oklahoma Sooners and Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield at the Rose Bowl. Georgia was unable to stop Mayfield and the high flying Oklahoma offense in the first half, however in the second half the Bulldogs were able to make some adjustments on defense and overcome a 14 point second half deficit to push the game into overtime. It was the first time a College Football playoff went into overtime and ended with Georgia blocking a field goal in the second overtime and then responding with a Sony Michel 27 yard touchdown run.

In the other Playoff game, Alabama faced Clemson for the third year in a row for what most PPH bookie services†like AcePerHead.com were calling the trilogy matchup. Alabama won against Clemson in the National Championship in 2016, and then in 2017 in the rematch DeShaun Watson was able to led a game winning drive against Alabamaís defense in the closing seconds for the victory. However this year they faced off in the semifinal playoff round and Alabamaís defense was just too much for Kelly Bryant and the Clemson offense.

Now Alabama will face off against their longtime SEC rivals the Georgia Bulldogs for the National Championship next Monday, January 8th at 8:45 pm. The line just opened with Alabama as the -4.5 point favorite, however, this game will be played in the hometown of the Bulldogs in Atlanta Georgia, which is almost like having a slight home-field advantage. In addition Coach, Kirby Smart of Georgia was the former longtime Defense coordinator under Nick Saban at Alabama from 2008 to 2015. So it will be like the student in Kirby Smart will be facing his former teacher in Nick Saban, and Saban has an overall record of 11-0 when facing former coaches that worked under him.

This is a game full of story lines and should be a real smash mouth style football game, with two excellent defenses and two excellent running attacks. Regardless of who wins, there will be plenty of betting options on this game, with lots of money to be made for anyone booking action.
