2011 World Series Futures

After a week of baseball, SBG Global has released its updated 2011 World Series futures prices effective April 10.  They will continue to offer odds throughout the season but it is important to lock in odds once you see them as they are subject to change.

Hot and Cold:

Oddsmakers continue to hold some faith in the Tampa Bay Rays, who came into this season among the favorites but have managed to start the season 1-6.  Their current odds of winning the 2011 World Series were +3000.

Worse still are the Boston Red Sox, who were the second favorite coming into the season after Philadelphia.  They are listed at 3/1 or +300 despite also starting off the season at 1-6.  We should be seeing much longer odds by the end of next week should this trend continue.  Red Sox backers are probably already banging their heads against the wall.

Baltimore was the hot team in the AL East with just one loss.  You can get them at +4000 odds currently.

The Texas Rangers continue to be hot this season after playing in last year’s World Series, though ultimately losing.  They are the only undefeated Major League Baseball team as of press time and their odds of winning the 2011 World Series had great value at +600 for a payout of $600 on every $100 bet.  The reigning champion Giants were at +1000 odds and sit at the bottom of the National League West with a near .500 record.  This is certainly a good time to place money on San Francisco if you think they are going to improve quickly.  They just won their last two games as of press time.

Cleveland is uber hot right now having won 5 straight.  Their 2011 World Series futures price:  +10000.  That’s a $10,000 payout on a $100 bet should they ultimately win
